Mahi Ngtahi | Who You Will Work With People and Culture are a fun, family focused and supportive team of skilled and capable individuals who provide information, advice and support for employees and managers at the University of Canterbury (UC). Payroll forms a critical part of the wider People and Culture team. u Mahi | What You Will Do As a Mtanga Utu Kaimahi | Payroll Specialist you will proactively engage with your stakeholders (People and Culture Business Partners, Managers and staff across UC) on a regular basis, providing them with expert and timely payroll advice through exceptional customer service.
In conjunction with the wider Payroll team you will manage the preparation, calculation and processing of our fortnightly payroll and action documentation associated with an employee lifecycle (leave, promotions, resignations, hires, etc) ensuring compliance with legislation and employment terms and conditions of UC's Collective and Individual Employment Agreements. You are skilled at identifying priorities, managing your workload and enjoy looking for process improvement opportunities. Mu | Who You Are You have experience in a payroll function with exposure to diverse pay and HR systems, including experience with a variety of leave, benefit types and deductions (e.
g., tax). The main focus is your knowledge, experience and a positive attitude.
You are a numbers orientated person and have a knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation. You have experience in reconciliations and working with electronic files and reports. You have an eye for detail, even during busy periods and can confidently identify and solve solutions.
